The nonprofit sector in WNY is a critical community support, employing more than 63,000 and providing vital social support services, education, healthcare, arts & culture, and economic resiliency. In addition to support for individual nonprofit organizations, NSG is dedicated to supporting and promoting the overall sector and its critical role in our community.
NSG is committed to empowering the nonprofit sector by championing diversity, equity, and inclusion. We design our programs to amplify diverse voices, support leaders of color, open access to resources for those who may traditionally be denied them, and promote deeper understanding through training and learning opportunities.
NSG also strengthens the nonprofit ecosystem by recruiting and supporting intermediaries, consultants, and vendors essential for building capacity and expertise for nonprofit organizations. In addition to connecting these professionals with nonprofits that need their services, NSG also provides programming, networking, and resources specifically to them to ensure that they have the resources needed to be effective in their work in the nonprofit sector.
As the region’s only organization dedicated to the nonprofit sector, NSG believes one of its essential roles is to lift the nonprofit sector’s profile and to highlight the unique and varied contributions made to our community, including to our social safety net and our region’s quality of life.
