NSG was created to develop a framework around capacity building for WNY and Monroe County for nonprofit organizations to bolster a connected, innovative sector, and amplify impact to our community.
In its relatively short 5-year life, NSG has become a significant support - both in identifying the needs of the sector and in linking to the necessary resources to address those needs in capacity building, fostering connections to each other, and providing introductions to those intermediaries, consultants, and vendors that provide added supports and expertise.
Since our launch in June 2019, much has changed in the world
NSG launched in summer 2019 centering the voices of nonprofit leaders across the 9 county region. We went out in the community to hear directly from leaders where they feel strongest and where they experience challenges. We brought their voices to the table to help us identify existing solutions and design new solutions to fill gaps. The pandemic in 2020 caused a shift in NSG planning from long term solutions to short term crisis response.
As we enter a new year for NSG and aim to enhance the nonprofit sector, we are reflecting on the influence we've had within the ecosystem we’re proud to support.
