Nonprofit Support Group is the go-to resource for nonprofits, offering a full agenda of learning opportunities, shared resources, and other sector-strengthening initiatives.
Key to a thriving nonprofit sector is continual learning and professional development to ensure nonprofit organizations can build their internal expertise and resources to best fulfill their mission.
NSG collaborates with a variety of partners to offer topics critical to effectively run nonprofits.
Effective leaders are the backbone of a strong social impact sector. Our research in the nonprofit field continually reinforces the need for leadership development, particularly for executive directors who are fairly new to their jobs and to raise the next generation of leaders.
The NSG partners with Institute for Nonprofit Practice (INP) to offer comprehensive programs for nonprofit staff and leaders including weekly lectures, peer-to-peer learning opportunities, mentoring and networking for both leaders and emerging leaders through a DEI lens.
Interested participants in the Core Certificate and RISE programs (including early career, staff, managers, executive and board members) can learn more here.
Fund Development acumen is critical to building sustainable and effective nonprofits. Fund Development Bootcamp is an intensive, rigorous program designed to give executive directors and development professionals the tools to effectively target, communicate with, and cultivate an engaged donor base to support and sustain their organizations. Sessions are offered twice a year. For information on the next session, sign up for our newsletter here.
NSG aims to promote the highest standards of ethics and accountability for nonprofits across our region in nonprofit governance, management and operations, and to support nonprofits to adhere to those standards. As part of that goal, NSG has partnered with the Standards for Excellence Institute and local intermediaries to deliver educational programming and support with tools and templates available on Impact HQ.
The NSG launched an exciting new series that convenes social sector leaders, intermediaries and philanthropy with the goal of learning and innovating together to develop a transformative shared vision for the communities in which we live and work.
The series will offer multiple sessions exploring nonprofit sector innovations, and it is our hope that you will find these sessions both thought provoking and actionable.
Creating systems that work for all requires us to work together and be receptive to changing the status quo. We aspire to cultivate a space to build relationships and sustain collective conversations.
Our first event was held at Kleinhans Music Hall and featured author Dan Pallotta. Here is a link to a takeaway document from that event.
